Oui Design at WantedDesign

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States is launching Oui Design, a multifaceted program to foster creative exchange in design between France and the U.S. by partnering with individuals and institutions on both sides of the Atlantic. Supported by Institut français-Paris, the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, and the Florence Gould Foundation, Oui Design is a 2 year program and will consist of exhibitions, talks, workshops, debates and more. During NYCxDESIGN, in partnership with WantedDesign, Oui Design will explore the intersection of design and savoir-faire, and investigate the impact of design on our daily lives with a series of projects at WantedDesign Manhattan and Brooklyn. The program includes the Transatlantic Creative Exchange exhibition, We Trust in Wood by matali crasset and Le vent des Forets, Visual Magnetics collaboration with French graphic artists Antoine+Manuel and a conversation presented by Intramuros magazine on the collaboration between Bernhardt design and French designer Oceane Delain.
Lastly, the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle-Les Ateliers (ENSCI-Les Ateliers), will be leading the WantedDesign Design Schools Workshop this year.
We are also excited to have the French Pavilion and additional French manufacturers and French American collaborations presented at WantedDesign Manhattan, including Blackbody, Fermob, LightArt+iwoodlove and KinderMODERN.
“Promoting French creativity and Savoir Faire and initiating French-American collaborations has been a dear and important mission for us since the beginning of WantedDesign. Oui Design program is a key initiative that we are thrilled to support and to be part of.” Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat – More
