WantedDesign “breaks the ice” at TO DO

The Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market was a success!

Last weekend, nearly 4,000 curious design lovers came to Industry City to shop at the Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market. Framed by inspiring industrial architecture, the event engaged and delighted the visitors with pleasant music and hot chocolate, and showcased the best Brooklyn-made design objects. WantedDesign thanks the partners of the Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market – the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Design Milk, car2go, and Industry City – all of you who came and shopped and all the vendors who were part of this successful event.  More

Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market, Nov. 22-23, at Industry City

WantedDesign is introducing a new design-shopping event at Industry City in partnership with the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, the “Made in Brooklyn Holiday Market” on Saturday November 22nd, and Sunday 23rd, from10am to 6pm. The event will gather creative “Made in Brooklyn” products, including furniture, lighting, home ware, accessories, jewelry, food all framed by an inspiring environment.  Come to discover and shop the original selection of Made in Brooklyn products, meet the designers and makers, and enjoy hot drinks in the lounge. Q&A with Lowery Stokes Sims, MAD’s William and Mildred Lasdon Chief Curator

This November, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will present the first American museum group exhibition dedicated to contemporary Latin American design. Featuring more than 75 designers, artists, craftspersons, and collectives, New Territories: Laboratories for Design, Craft and Art in Latin America will survey the innovative, cross-disciplinary collaborations and new directions in creative production that have been occurring throughout Latin America since 2000. On view from November 4, 2014 through April 6, 2015, the exhibition focuses on work emanating from a number of key cities that serve as cultural hubs for some of the most pertinent new ideas about art, design, and craft.
