Visit us, January 19-25, 2015, 10am-6pm, at the Design Within Reach Toronto Studio, 435 King Street West (at Spadina Avenue), for the “Outside the Box” program WantedDesign presents designs from five U.S. cities shipped across the country in Bankers boxes and filled with an unexpected selection of objects united by the theme “Breaking the Ice.” The boxes will be interpreted by each correspondent in a literal sense with specific typology of products or materials, or figurative way with objects that either show or express the ideas of initiating social interaction, facilitating conversations, and engaging people.

WantedDesign Manhattan (May 15 – May 18) will continue to present a selection of U.S. and International established brands and up-and-coming companies, the Conversation Series, the Launch Pad, as well as the new American Design Honors program. WantedDesign Brooklyn in Sunset Park (May 9 – May 19) will host the Design Schools Workshop, bring innovative discoveries and large-scale installations to a broader audience, and host the opening night celebration of NYCxDESIGN on May 9.
We’re happy to announce that this year, WantedDesign will once again have a strong U.S. presence. We’re also very pleased to announce major group exhibitions from Ireland, as well as Interiors From Spain who is participating with a group of 6-8 designers, Argentina, Poland (presented by Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Culture.pl) and Croatia (presented by the New York based Ikon Arts Foundation). This fall has been very busy between our travels and home based events, all helping us shape and nourish the WantedDesign May 2015 edition. In light of our fast approaching main events, we are happy to announce the fifth edition of WantedDesign/Manhattan, May 15th to May 18th, 2015 at the Terminal Stores building in West Chelsea, New York City. The early bird application fee ends on December 15th so please contact us soon if you are interested in participating. Also in May 2015, and for the second year, WantedDesign extends its vision by organizing a multidisciplinary design destination at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn (WantedDesign/Brooklyn, May 9th-19th), bridging art and design, involving design schools and bringing together the NYC creative and design community, creating an inspiring Brooklyn hub for the NYCxDESIGN 10 day celebration.
