The Future of Paper

Led by the Art Center College of Design’s Associate Professors of Environmental Design, Penny Herscovitch & Dan Gottlieb, and with the support of rOtring, the 2014 Design Schools Workshop challenged students to re-envision the expressive qualities of paper. The teams – Team Yummy, Team Home Factory, Team Nomad, Team Bag in a Bag, and Team Illuminate – wowed the jury with their creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, including edible paper, and inventive ways to get kids recycling. The jury included our media supporter Jaime Derringer (Design Milk), as well as Robert Nightingale (RBRTNGHTNGL Studio + rOtring), Stephanie Forsythe (Molo), Caroline Baumann (Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum), and Giulio Cappellini.
