What a night! Kicking off our busy month was a conversation with DWR President + CEO, John Edelman, DWR VP of Creative Michael Sainato, Sayigh+Duman Principals Laith Sayigh and Koray Duman, and 2×4 Founding Partner/Creative Director Georgianna Stout. The panel was moderated by Design Journalist, Julie Taraska. The talk, quite a success, was hosted in DWR’s Greene Street Studio and discussed, specifically, the rollout of their new studio design concept which will be officially unveiled at their 57th street location, set to open in January 2014.
DWR is continuing his partnership with architecture group Sayigh Duman to bring the East 57th Street Studio to life. In addition, the DWR creative team is collaborating with design firm 2×4 on signage, wayfinding and other elements of interior and environmental design.
“It has been a great opportunity and challenge to design an architectural identity for a company well known for its mission to promote iconic modern design in America.” – Koray Duman, Founding Partner, Sayigh Duman Architects.
“Working with DWR has been a great experience and a fun challenge. Each new space is unique architecturally, so we’ve developed a flexible system that can accommodate different kinds of conditions. Our goal is to infuse the studios with information, both practical and dynamic, to allow for a richer consumer experience.” – Georgianna Stout, Founding Partner and Creative Director, 2×4.
This latest DWR Studio will occupy a prime corner location in midtown Manhattan at East 57th Street and Third Avenue in the M&B Building, located in proximity to the Architects& Designers Building and the Decoration & Design Building. For more information on Design Within Reach, visit dwr.com
