Project In our CYQL line of ottomans made with recycled bicycle inner tubes, we transform a material that is purely functional and hidden from view. Bicycle inner tubes are normally discarded and incinerated after being used, however black rubber does not disintegrate and the smoke is toxic. Our CYQL design takes inspiration from of the inherent aesthetic properties of this resistant, versatile material with its striking, dark patina. The irregular patterns formed by the wrapping process and the various quality, size, color and prints of the tubes give each CYQL its own unique history and look. The core is made from an inflated ball, which gives the ottoman a pleasing, bouncy support when sitting on it. The final product, with its hip, industrial feel, makes a great statement in any room.
