TALKING TEXTILES

Since 2011, TALKING TEXTILES is an initiative by trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort and design curator Philip Fimmano that promotes creative textiles. Exhibitions and seminars bring attention to the plight of the endangered textile industry, educating professionals and consumers alike about the importance of fabrics in contemporary culture. This year, TALKING TEXTILES is coming to WantedDesign with an exhibition at Industry City Brooklyn that features 10 finalists from the program’s new textile design prize. Displaying textures and concepts that innovate our perceptions of material, the TALKING TEXTILES installation will offer visitors a visually-tactile experience of innovative fabrics! (On show: May 9 – 19).
