Seattle Outside the Box

Pot Luck

can’t explain why there seems to be a large number of tabletop items currently being designed and produced in Seattle. Perhaps it’s because of our strong connection to coffee, food, brewing, and a recent micro-distilling boom, but the theme of “L’art de la Table” turned out to be a good fit for us. The objects selected represent a variety of materials and aesthetics employed by the Seattle design community. John Hogan’s blown glass tumblers are a good example of a new wave of glass artists while Fruitsuper’s Lift Trivet is a tribute to simplicity and function. In contrast, Brian Beck’s contribution of hand wrought flatware is clearly an exercise in humor and craftsmanship. Work from Ladies & Gentlemen, urbancase, Graypants, Sarah Loertscher, Piano Nobile, Iacoli & MaAllister, and Grain is also included.
