44 Steel

44 Steel’s roots go back way before owner and founder Jason Radcliffe knew he had an interest in furniture.

It started while Jason was working in his father’s fabrication shop, where he was introduced to industrial materials and styles. As he grew older and gained an appreciation for craftsmanship and design it became apparent that furniture would be a natural transition for him. In Cleveland, in 2005 a small local furniture store noticed something he had built for a friend and strongly encouraged him to build more. 44 Steel was born.

With influences from the industrial revolution, a clean modern execution and an emphasis on handmade quality pieces, Jason continues to produce new and original products for 44 Steel that he will be presenting in May.

Outside of his workshop, Jason is a trailblazer in the design world and focuses his efforts on cultivating the Cleveland design scene. He founded and heads up the Cleveland F*SHO, which is an annual furniture show that showcases the up and coming fabricators, designers, companies, and students in the Cleveland area.
