Standard Socket started with an idea – unite design and manufacturing to produce a diverse line of quality, modern lights. This statement laid the foundation for our strategy: Connect + Design + Make.

Connect
Eastbay Lighting is a manufacturing studio run by a duo of talented problem solvers searching for a way to develop a modern line. Waiting in the wings were the designers, struggling to navigate their way through electrical codes and certifications. The solution is Standard Socket – connecting manufacturer and designer from conception to production.
Design
We respect the design process. It starts with an image, an idea, or an inspiration. It results in endless experiments, interpretations, and incarnations. To celebrate this, we limited our parameters and backed our designers with the expertise of Eastbay Lighting. This premise allowed designers from Seattle, Auckland, New York, and Norway to create a body of work that was both born of our inspiration and uniquely all their own.

This proud partnership is powered by those who don’t shy away from a challenge. Standard Socket offers talented designers the tools they need to bring their ideas to fruition through the support of local manufacturing in Seattle, Washington.

Standard Socket was founded by Dawna Holloway and Brian Beck of Eastbay Lighting, Hillary Rielly of Inform Interiors, and Urbancase’s Darin Montgomery.
