Julie Gaillard

For the first time in New York City, Julie Gaillard will exhibit her new furniture collection called Liseré, named for the twisting border applied to fabric to create a connection between patterns. Empcompassing her entire life, Lisere is  a sleek and functional design in solid oak, modest but lasting in any room. It took over a year for julie and her manufacturer, Dasras Company, located in Brittany in the West of France to conceive the collection. They met in January 2012 at the Maison & Objet NOW DESIGN tradeshow, when she presented her first collection of daily objects and tableware made of wood and porcelain. Working with the best french artisans using only natural and sustainable local materials is very important for the designer. After a Master of Arts at the Sorbonne, 10 years working as a copywriter in advertising agencies, and training at the Ecole Boulle applied arts school, Julie Gaillard naturally tackled interior architecture and started to design to express herself more freely. To create meaning with a dash of humor, bring poetry and functionality in our lives.
