Jamie Wolfond

Jamie Wolfond is a Brooklyn-based designer originally from Toronto. He is curious about materials, patterns, colours, simple physics and manufacturing systems. He believes that the relationship between a designer, manufacturer and consumer needs to be evolving constantly.
Jamie graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in furniture design. His studio takes on licensing projects, production runs, special commissions and whatever else may be next.
This April, Jamie launched his Webshop- A collaboration with web designers Jon Lucas and Tessa Modi. He designs and fabricates all of them products in his tiny Brooklyn studio, with the help of several specialized vendors throughout the USA. He has a knack for finding clever applications for manufacturing processes that are uncommon to the furniture industry and has collaborated with a wide range of producers—a whitewater raft factory, a jewelry casting company, a pool cue manufacturer and an acoustic drum shop, to name a few.
To build the exhibition at WantedDesign, Jamie is collaborating with Amscor Inc, a New york based fabricator of steel shelving and storage systems. Established in 1973 Amscor, Inc., the American Steel Corporation, has positioned itself to serve the storage needs of our dealer base by giving careful attention to each individual order.
