Rado Star Prize
Design-driven Swiss watchmaker Rado is pleased to announce that it will serve as the Official Watch Sponsor of two New York design events: NYCxDESIGN, New York City’s official celebration of the global design scene, and WantedDesign. As part of this city-wide celebration of design, Rado will launch the first ever U.S. edition of the Rado Star Prize, which is held internationally to promote the work of young designers. The stateside edition of the Rado Star Prize will focus on exploring the concept of lightness and “a lighter way of living” – a theme embodied by Rado’s latest lightweight and minimalist watch collections. The call for entries for the competition is now open on the Rado Star Prize US website. The closing date for entries is April 14, 2016.
Ten finalists and one winner of the Rado Star Prize U.S. 2016 will be selected by a specialist jury comprising members of NYCxDESIGN, WantedDesign, Rado, and members of the design and watch community. The winner will receive $5,000 in prize money as well as a Rado watch, and all finalists will have the opportunity to display their concepts at WantedDesign Brooklyn. An additional prix du public winner, selected by online voting, will receive a Rado watch.
