The Muse Chair is constructed by a distinct technique that hybridizes knitting, weaving, and knot making. Composed entirely of bungee cord, the fabric serves as the main structure of the chair and is fastened onto a coated steel frame. Because both materials are water resistant, the seating is also suited for outdoor use.

Presenting the Muse Chair at WantedDesign exposes the potential for textiles to act as a structural, rather than just decorative, element in furniture. It is truly exciting to share this project with the public and to hear manufacturers’ feedback on ways to develop it further.
