Archtober and WantedDesign

Are you ready for New York City’s architecture and design month? WantedDesign will co-host and support 2 events in association with Archtober, Architecture and Design month in New York City, in October 2014. After a successful fourth edition of WantedDesign and a program curated at Industry City in Brooklyn last May for NYCxDESIGN, now in preparation for 2015 at the Terminal Stores building in West Chelsea (May 15-18), the organization continues to nurture the design conversation during the year in New York. More

WantedDesign invites the professional and the public of design lovers to meet with key representatives from the industry during the Archtober month at Ligne Roset, Park Avenue, October 23rd and at the Valcucine showroom in Soho, October 30th.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23rd | Conversation at Ligne Roset | Ligne Roset Park Avenue South showroom, talk followed by cocktail & Hors d’oeuvres 6-8pm, 250 Park Avenue, New York.
A conversation moderated by Ronald T. Labaco, Marcia Docter Curator, Museum of Arts and Design with Antoine Roset, executive vice president of Roset USA Corp., William Horgan, Partner at Grimshaw Architect, sand Casimir Zdanius, Head of Industrial Design at Grimshaw Architects. The conversation will explore and share with the audience the latest innovation and new tools developed by the companies to dialog with the clients and translate the design, from concept to finishes.

WantedDesign and Valcucine, are pleased to invite you to celebrate the opening of Wood Mood. Join us at 6pm for a conversation moderated by Paul Clemence, Contributing Editor for Metropolis Magazine, with Andrew H. Dent Ph.D., Vice President, Library & Materials Research at Material ConneXion, Winka Dubbeldam, Founder and Principal of archi-tectonics, Daniele Prosdocimo, Communication Director at Valcucine, and Brian Jevremov, Founder, Dom Interiors.

The discussion will explore the use of wood in today’s interior and how Valcucine embraces the notions of sustainability, craft and beauty.

WOOD MOOD | 30 October – 15 November 2014

Curated by Davide Fabio Colaci, the WOOD MOOD will unveil new possibilities and concepts, exploring the characteristics of wood beyond the conventional and functional. The exhibition will feature the work of twelve designers: Tomas Alonso, Arabeschi di Latte, Daniele Bortotto, Fabien Cappello, Fabio Castelli, Lorenzo Damiani, Giulio Iacchetti, Giovanni Longo, Naruse Inokuma architects, Luzia Vogt, Sandra Chamberlin, and Fort Standard.
